Worcester Jazz Collective

The Worcester Jazz Collective — comprising pianist Martin Gohary, bassist Tom Lubelczyk and drummer Tim Hetu — performs bright, cool jazz. On songs such as the band’s rendition of Dave Brubeck’s “Shish Kebab,” Gohary’s perky piano playing takes center stage, with Hetu’s rhythmic snare backing it up. In addition to performing July 24 on the Worcester Common as part of the Worcester Local Weekend, the band will also be performing July 23 at Ceres Bistro, later July 24 at Beatnik’s and July 25 at Sahara Restaurant, with guest drummer Renato Malavasi.
